Our Services
Many of us are part of the “sandwich generation”. We are focused both on caring for aging parents while also raising children of our own. It’s a unique and often overwhelming stage of life, filled with love, responsibility, and difficult decisions.
At Khidma, we understand these challenges deeply. Our work is rooted in supporting families like yours. Our goal is to help you find balance through compassionate support. With medical expertise and faith-based guidance, we walk with you as you care for those who once cared for you, while continuing to nurture the next generation.
Six ways to find support
Khidma Care Counselling
Psychotherapy for Elderly Muslims and Caregivers.
Emotional wellness matters at every stage of life, and caring for the soul is part of caring for the body.
As our elders age, they may face grief, anxiety, isolation or a loss of a sense of purpose.
Adult children may be navigating anticipatory grief, loss, caregiver burnout, or general stress.
Navigating illness and caregiver fatigue are experiences that affect both mind and soul. At Khidma, we offer culturally and spiritually sensitive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) tailored for Muslim seniors and caregivers.
Grounded in compassion, Islamic values, and clinical expertise, our therapy sessions with medical doctors provide a safe space to reflect and heal, and to reconnect with hope.
“Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.”
Qur’an 13:28

Khidma Care Connect
Physician Support Program
We often find ourselves trying to navigate an overburdened health care system. Your existing care providers may not spend the time you feel you need, or may lack an understanding of your cultural or religious contexts.
Khidma is here to help fill this gap. Our roster of Support Care Physicians help walk families through challenges relating to illness, frailty, or end-of-life care.
Our Muslim doctors can help you to better understand complex medical situations, to advocate for the care you deserve, and to find peace in decisions made through both clinical knowledge and Islamic values.
Each elder’s and each family’s situation is unique.
We are here to listen, educate, and support.

Khidma Care Pathways
Social Prescribing Program
Sometimes, the help we need goes beyond a pharmacologic prescription. Healing happens not just in clinics, but in connection and community.
Khidma Care Pathways connects Muslim seniors and their caregivers to trusted community resources to meet a variety of needs - from halal meal services to transportation, socialization programs and more.
Our team of compassionate Care Navigators will listen to your story and help you find services that support your health, well-being, and dignity.
This program is a youth led initiative, that carves a path to the practical supports that you and your elder require in your community.
“Indeed, the believers are but one brotherhood.”
Qur’an 49:10

Faith-Based Advance Care Planning
Launching April 2026Serious illness or aging can involve complex medical decisions. Often times families are unsure how to move forward in a way that honours both medical needs and Islamic values.
Khidma offers faith-informed advance care planning to help you and your loved ones prepare for the future with confidence and sincerity. We guide Muslim families through conversations about values, wishes, and end-of-life care all grounded in Islamic ethics, medical wisdom, and respect for family dynamics.
Whether you’re navigating Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) decisions, substitute decision-maker forms, or just trying to talk to your parents about what they would want, we’re here to help.
Planning ahead is not a sign of fear it’s an act of ihsān (excellence), mercy, and spiritual foresight.
“Take provision, but indeed, the best provision is taqwa.”
Qur’an 2:197

Palliative Support & End-of-Life Navigation
Launching November 2026When a loved one is facing a serious illness or nearing the end of life, families are often overwhelmed not just by medical decisions, but by spiritual questions, cultural needs, and emotional weight.
From diagnosis to final days, we provide respectful, dignified care that honours both the patient’s body and soul. We are here to walk alongside you, as an additional support to your existing health care providers.
We can help you and your family:
- Understand what to expect through the palliative process
- Reflect on Islamic perspectives on death, dying, and acceptance
- Address questions around do-not-resuscitate (DNR) orders, hospice care, or terminal illness
- Prepare for the emotional and practical steps around death and burial
- Navigate family conversations with compassion and clarity
At Khidma, we do not replace your palliative care team or prescribers. We are positioned to be an additional resource to your doctors, offering faith-informed guidance and culturally sensitive support throughout the journey.
“To Allah we belong and to Him we return.”
Qur’an 2:156
