About Khidma

Nothing in medicine has humbled me more than moments of uncertainty - when answers aren’t in textbooks and decisions feel overwhelming. But one of the greatest gifts from Allah is our ability to keep learning, and to turn to Him.

From a young age, I made a promise to be a life-long learner - a commitment that has shaped my journey through humanitarian work, clinical care, and community advocacy. Over the years, one concern keeps returning to my heart: how do we best serve our elders and those who care for them?

Through countless conversations with patients and families, I’ve witnessed a growing gap. Time constraints, confusing systems, and a lack of culturally & spiritually informed care leave many feeling lost and unsupported.

Khidma was born to help fill that gap. Not to replace our healthcare, but to walk alongside it. With clinical insight and spiritual integrity, we support families navigating aging, illness, and caregiving with intention and dignity.

Canada is aging rapidly, and within our Muslim communities, this shift is rarely addressed with the care it deserves. Many of us are part of the “sandwich generation”, placed between young children and aging parents. We need spaces rooted in our faith and values to face these challenges together.

Khidma is a call to action. A chance to uplift elderhood, support caregivers, and serve with excellence. May we embrace this opportunity to honour our elders, ease their burdens, and gain the pleasure of Allah.
